She was raised by three sisters and a brother. They regularly practiced Hungarian to maintain her proficiency. Bruckner was a Californian from Hollywood, was born into Hungarian parents and Russian mothers who had separated. The paternal grandparents of Bruckner were German. The couple came into contact in Hungary. They immigrated in the U.S. through an Italian refugee camp. There is a sister and brother.
